What Causes Pain Near Belly Button?

Question: I was lifting a heavy cabinet, when it felt like someone stabbed me with something about 4 inches to the right of my bellybutton. This occurred about 3-4 days ago, and only hurts when I bend over. Is there a muscle in that area? Can a hernia happen that fast.

Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear XXXX
It is unlikely to be hernia in that place. It is more likely to be inferior epigastric artery tear which could have resulted due to lifting weight.
It does not require any specific treatment. I would suggest you the following
1. Adequate rest
2. Hot water fomentation
3. Analgesic like Ibuprofen
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
