Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concern.
1. I need to know when did the pain started? And if it is there all the time or only on certain positions?
2. If the pain started after long walking today, and if you are not having urinary or bowel movement problems, then it is muscular.
3. Observe if taking OTC pain killers can ease the pain.
Looking forward to have the requested information in for a more specific opinion.

The pain in the groin started about three weeks ago. My dr. checked for me for hernia and said he thought it was muscular. The upper problem, about the area of the lower bowel and hip has been going on about three or four days. When I walked yesterday it bothered me at first but as the day progressed it stopped. I slept fine last night and it did not bother me at all. This morning there is a little pain around the crease of the leg and torso (sp) but not like it was. My wife said to me last night I keep pressing on the pain area which she feels might be aggravating it so today I'm keeping my hands away from it. Sorry for the late delay in response but my grandchildren are here and I they were getting all my attention.
Brief Answer:
Probably muscular; if it will continue, get an X-ray of hip joint run....
Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXXXXX
Thank you for providing the requested information.
Taking all your new data into account, I can say that the pain you are having is muscular. By age, the bones and ligaments are not functioning as you were younger; this will be reflected with pain in the major joints (those that will hold the major pressure of your body-hip joint).
Take oral pain killer and apply analgesic cream locally to ease the pain. Applying warm clothing can also help.
If it will keep giving pain, then, you can discuss with your doctor to run hip joint X-ray for further evaluations.
All the best and enjoy your time with your grandchildren!
