Brief Answer:
Please follow the following steps

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking in HCM

I can understand your concern

Given the fact that i have not enough information i can give you some info hoping to help him.

This pain might be related mainly to lung problems .

For exploring it are needed some tests as following:

Hemogram
CRP
Chest x ray

If they come positive his doctor will prescribe to him, antibiotics and painkillers for probably one week (depending from his condition)

If the tests are negative than the other step is to rule out heart problems causing the chest pain with:

ECG
Troponin Creatine Kinase MB

If they are positive the cardiologist will advice him further.

If not than an abdominal ultrasound should be done to explore the intestine which might have a lot of gases .

Please discuss with his doctor for the above

Regards and feel free to ask me again
