What Causes Pain When Penis Is Erect?

Posted on Thu, 6 Nov 2014
Question: Hi Doctor, Since last 2-3 months, my penis has been hurting when erect. The pain is like something from the core is pulling the muscles back and not allowing the muscles to stretch enough, felt only around a part of the shaft down the glans and exists only for the duration of erection. Otherwise in normal times, I don't feel any difference at all. Urination and everything else is perfectly usual - no burning sensation, no itching, no white spots on the skin, no swelling, literally no other visible change in my whole body. Would you kindly advice if these symptoms sounds familiar with anything specific and suggest any medication? Thank you.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Your symptoms do not suggest any specific abnormality. I think that it culd be due to some strain(may be due to masturbation) on soft tissue. Try not doing masturbation if you are doing it and we can see if it related to it.

If not, you may need a physical examination.

Stay healthy and let me know if you need any clarifications.

Thanks!

Thanks doctor, but I don't do that as well these days. Can a tissue strain last for 3 months or so? I read about similar symptoms in case of some infections - could that have happened in my case, though I didn't do anything unusual. Finally, if I have to see a doctor, would you kindly suggest an expert in this matter? I live in Madhapur area, thanks again.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There is possibility that it may not be due to tissue strain. However, it can be ruled out if you try not doing masturbation for few days.

You can contact a General Physician initially, as there is no suspicion of specific abnormality as of now. If you are staying in Madhapur, you may want to contact Dr. Kumar-0000.

Thanks!
