What Causes Painful Bulge On Right Leg After An Injury?

default
Posted on Sat, 17 May 2014
Question: I tripped over a desk drawer a couple of months ago and I have a bulge on my right leg that does not seem to go away. It is a large lump where I hit the metal cabinet. It only really hurts when I rub it. I have not pain when I walk. Is this something I should be concerned about.

Brief Answer:
You will be quite fine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query,

I am please to be able to assist you.

I do believe that you will be fine and that it is simply soft tissue inflammation secondary to injury. Applying topical antiinflammatory such as diclofenac cream or even oral can help regress the inflammation.
However, if you have insurance coverage it will be best you get an MRI scan just to make sure that the accident did not provoke a tumoral process to form.
Also, get a doctor to exam it so we can be 100% sure it is harmless (I am quite certain you have nothing to worry about).

Hope this helps and wish you the best.
