What Causes Painful Leg After Shin Injury?

There is a small egg shape at the front of the leg where the 'banging' occured and it hurts sometimes around the area. Should I be overly alarmed?
No reason to be alarmed.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
I really do not think you need to be bothered, especially if a fracture was excluded with a good X ray. Depending on the intensity of the trauma and associated lesions, it is not rare to experience some chronic pain as you are experiencing.
Local and systemic anti inflammatory drugs (Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs and steroids) could be helpful. Diclofenac orally or as a cream applied on the lesion could help. care should be taken in case you got a history of gastritis.
In case of pain, simple analgesics like Acetaminophen, Anti inflammatory drugs orally and local creams could be very helpful. Care most be taken not to elicit gastritis in at risk patients.
No worries for now and kind regards.
