What Causes Painful Lump On Upper Right Arm?

Further details requested
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
To be able to help you further may I request additional information on the lump. Did the lump appear after you had a fall or traumatic injury? Please let us know the size of the lump and its exact location. It would be helpful to know since when its been there and if its growing with time. If the lump is soft then most likely it is originating from muscles and soft tissues and if hard then it must be bony in origin. As you have mentioned its starting to hurt, it would be important to know when you first noticed the lesion and since when its been hurting.
Waiting for updates from your end.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek

Detailed Answer:
HiXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in with an update.
It is best if you can send in a picture of the lump.
I understand you are having a pea sized lump in or around the axilla and armpit region (Please correct me if I am wrong) then its most likely a small lymph node or hair follicle infection. Most of these are harmless but should be checked by your local doctor for proper treatment. The appearance of pain might be due to mild infection and you may need to take a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications. Any history of being unwell or having fever in the last one month is significant and must be reported to your doctor.
Less likely, if it is hanging loosely off the skin then it may be a skin tag and this condition is harmless.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
