What Causes Painful Pea-sized Lump Below Armpit?

Question: Hi, started a prescription for Microgestin last month and have always loved it, but it does cause breast tenderness and swelling in me. Also had a pap smear which came back normal and the doctor felt my breasts and didn't find anything unusual. About two weeks ago, I developed a cough randomly which resulted in yellow phlegm and me losing my voice completely for a few days but the issue rectified itself without a doctor visit right before I was scheduled to have my bottom two wisdom teeth removed July 2nd. I also had a consultation with a plastic surgeon about breast implants XXXXXXX 29th where he also felt my breasts but didn't notice anything irregular.
After getting my wisdom teeth removed, the healing for my extraction has been very painful and stressful. Lots of swelling and soreness, limited jaw opening, lots of vomiting from the pain meds to where I've given up on the hydrocodone and am only talking ibuprofen. Yesterday, I had some soreness in my underarms that I typically get after starting Microgestin, but happened to find a knot the size of a small pea in my left armpit. It didn't really move around that much, and I could feel it when I raised my arm and pushed downward with my fingertips, it sits about an inch below where the hair stops and the hollow of the armpit is. I also haven't shaved my underarms or worn deodorant in over a week. 24 hours later, the lump is still sore and still there, but the knot seems to be slightly larger yet less dense. Is any of this at all normal given the amount of trauma I've undergone to my ENT area over the past two weeks or does this sound alarming? Could it be my body still adjusting to the microgestin? The person that was helping to take care of mixed up my birth control packs so I was getting pills from the end of one pack and the start in the other, could that also have something to do with it? I plan to make an appointment if the lump is still there by Friday but piece of mind would be such a relief after the past two weeks. I'm only 27 and I feel like I'm falling apart and finding a lump in your armpit is terrifying. Hoping for any and all help.

Brief Answer:
Due to local inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A small pea sized nodule just below the armpit that is sore is suggestive of a mild local inflammation. It is not likely to be related to microgestin. This is a small swollen lymph node that is likely to subside after a warm compress in next few days. It is nothing worrisome. The jaw inflammation will cause the neck lymph nodes to swell and not the armpit ones.
