Question: I have a small round hole on the side of my tongue. It is painful and it looks like a bullseye a small round patch of grey around a red hole and the rest of the tongue appears normal

I read your question and i understand your concern. small painful bump on the side of tongue for a few days is most lkely aphthous ulcer and self resolves. All you need to do is apply some topical corticosteroid gel, anesthetic gel and take some oral anti inflammatory meds. Good oral hygiene and drinking plenty of fluids are advised.

Avoid abrasive and spicy foods, dab a small amount of milk of magnesia over the painful area. You may apply to these canker sores.
