What Causes Painful Spasticity Attacks In Leg?
Question: Thank-you.
I am 60, a retired lawyer, bicyclist, with MS for 15 years. And Dementia. Not too bad, actually. But I had more painful spasticity "attacks," in my left leg this summer and in late Sept. my doc increased my Baclfen to 4 10 mg pills/day, up from 3. Since then, I've experienced painful attacks, lasting the usual 20 min, mostly after high-energy bike workouts. So I've stopped working out that hard. But now the spasticity - and the attacks - keep coming (~ 2 times/week). Should I ask my doc for another higher dose of Baclofen? I appreciate any input..

Brief Answer:
Don't increase the dose
Detailed Answer:
Dear
I am sorry for the symptoms you are suffering
Unfortunately you have reached the maximum effective dose of baclofen (which is the only antyspastic we know) so increasing the dose will not help
You should absolutely avoid physical stress
I would reccomend walking or swimming but not exercises
In my opinion you can use anti inflammatories (such as ibuprofen) on attacks
Discuss with your doctor about my opinion and let me know
Hope my answer will
help you
