Brief Answer:
Ultrasound scan testes required to assess injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
The testis is a sensitive organ in males and prone to injury by trauma. Regularly, I do ultrasounds on men who have hurt their testicles and have pain in the region. It is essential that your boyfriend gets an ultrasound scan done at the earliest to rule out any injury to the testes and epididymis.

Such an injury can vary from a mild torsion, testicular rupture, dislocation, contusion and fracture (extreme cases). As 6 weeks have passed and he is comfortable, it looks like a mild injury. Nevertheless, ultrasound assessment is required to know the exact impact of injury if any. There can also be bleeding into the scrotum as a result of his testicular trauma and this might be causing pain, especially when he is aroused.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
