Brief Answer:
Pale=lighter than normal;different from yellowish.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

1. Pale stool could have lighter color than normal stool. Other synonyms include white or clay colored.

They might indicate :
- lack of bile in stool
- frequent bowel movements

2. Yellowish stool are called the fatty/greasy stool, where there is excessive fat in stool. It might be due to inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g. celiac disease); malabsorption or food intolerance (e.g. protein gluten in cereals).

Your clinical symptoms and other lab tests results should be considered for final conclusions.
