What Causes Panic Attack While On Prolomet?

I am 36 year old male and I live in Australia originally from XXXXXXX In XXXXXXX 2016 when I went to XXXXXXX my father's cardiologist after checking my Blood Pressure (140/90) with resting heart rate over 90 put me onto Prolomet 12.5mg because of family history. I started taking it but within a month I started getting panic attacks and ended up in emergency twice. They dismissed anything to do with heart. the panic attacks would not stop, I weaned myself out of Prolomet by reducing the dose to 6.25 (half a day) for a month. Since then I have been walking regularly have a BP Machine at home and check with doctor as well, so far it has been 130/80 on an average. off late I have been having a lot of stress (work) and I am feeling not too well and checked BP AT HOME IT SEEMS TO BE 145/90 on an average. I am planning my trip to XXXXXXX in XXXXXXX my worry is should I start medicine again or check with doctor again?
No need to start any medicine as of now
Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear
I have read your medical details provided by you and I understand your concern. I am Dr Bhanu partap and I am a cardiology practitioner. Here I will try to explain things in a simple way.
The normal recommended range of blood pressure for a adult is upto 140 / 90 mmhg and your diastolic is just slightly raised. Your stress at workplace as well as anxiety is the most possible cause of this slight elevation.
This slight elevation can very well be controlled by following healthy lifestyle habits which includes
1. Daily brisk morning walk for 45 mins a day for 5 days a week.
2. Stop smoking completely if you do.
3. Reduction in daily dietary salt intake.
4. Avoiding junk and canned food.
5. Include good amount of fresh fruits and vegetables in daily diet.
6. Practice yoga if you can daily
Follow these instructions strictly for 3 months and then maintain this lifestyle. You won't be requiring any meds for your blood pressure control.
And take a break from your work for few days it will relieve your stress levels as well as your Bp levels. No need of any medicine for Blood pressure control.
I hope this information will relieve your worries. If you have any more doubts you can ask me back or else you can close the discussion and kindly rate the answer.
