What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain In Appendix Area?
Question: Hi, I've been experiencing abdominal pain, appendix area, for the last one and half years. The pain comes on suddenly and lasts 15-20 min. It is a burning pain, feels like a hot knitting needle stuck into me. It happens 2-3 times a week. I can't see any pattern when it happens although it is always quite bad after sex and sometimes wakes me up at night.
I've seen 2 different GP's both of whom made abdominal examinations but couldn't feel anything unusual.
I've been suffering from IBS symptoms (bloating, pain, constipation, mucus) for a few years as well. Tried various adjustments to my diet, some making it worse some better but nothing taking it away completely.
About a month after I had the pain the first time I noticed something worm like (about 15cm, translucent brown, looks like twisted string, no movement and very strong) in my stool. It appears for around 4 consecutive days about every 3 months since. I've taken Vermox 4 times since I first noticed it but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
I also started having night time seizures shortly after the first time I had the pain (maybe just coincidence) for which no medical explanation could be found. Also had MRI which was normal. On 150mg Lamotrigine daily and have been seizure free for 12 months.
The pain still continues.
I also have pernicious anaemia, get 1mg Vit B12 every 2-3 months. Regular blood tests normal.
Sorry for all the extra information, don't know if it will be helpful. Any advice would be appreciated. I don't like talking to my GP about this anymore because it always gives me the feeling that I'm just imagining it.

Brief Answer:
Genital issues to ruled out...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
From what you are describing, your symptoms are indicative for possible :
- vaginal infection
- ovary cyst
- uterus fibromyoma
I advise to run trans vaginal Ultrasound for further evaluation.
Once again, taking into account your symptoms and your age, they are indicative for possible genital problems.
Please upload the report, so that we can discuss further.
Hope it was of help!
