What Causes Persistent Loose Stool In A Child?

Probiotic will be helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms XXXXXXX
Cause of persistent loose stools is likely to be due to development of transient lactose intolerance. If the following criteria are fulfilled there is no cause for concern
1. Absence of blood in stools
2. Appetite normal
3. Urine output adequate
4. No redness in perianal region
I would suggest you the following
1. Probiotic like Flora BC will be helpful
2. Avoid milk and milk products for a week
3. Ensure intake of water and electrolyte
4. Maintain adequate nutrition by well balanced diet
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Take care
Best regards

Thanks for your reply. There's no blood in her stools, but last night I did notice a very small amount of mucus.
Her appetite and urine output is also adequate. Is Flora BC a syrup? Is it easily available?
Thanks,

I gave her Flora BC last evening--she was fine till early morning. But since then, she's already had two bowel movements. Should I continue to give her Flora BC or see her pediatrician?
Thanks,
XXXX
Continue giving Probiotic
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms XXXXXXX
Continue giving her Flora BC she should be fine. If there are no signs of Dehydration and urine output is adequate then there is no cause for concern.
