What Causes Persistent Pain In The Hands After Carpal Tunnel Surgery?
Not likely to be severe.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The nerve conduction can show mild slowing and there can be tendon inflammation which can cause the pain. A severe problem is not likely. Most probable reason for your symptoms could be postural problem of wrist and hand as you may be working on laptop for long time.
Medications like methylcobalamin and analgesics will reduce pain. If pain is severe a neurotropic like pregabalin can be added, you can take them after consulting your treating doctor.
Some exercises which can be done after pain has reduced include- wrist rotation, elbow movement, shoulder rotation, neck rotation, and fist open and close.
You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.
I hope this answers your query.
