What Causes Persistent Pain In The Mouth?

Question: I have been having pain on the right upper and lower side of my mouth. It has been happening for a couple of weeks. I don't have pain in the morning or afternoon but around 430 to 500 pm it starts to hurt again. What could be causing this?

Hello and welcome,
Given the time course of your symptoms, I think it must be due to something that is happening after you get up. Things that I can think of are perhaps if you drink orange juice or take ibuprofen then and have some silent reflux it might be hurting your mouth. I'd expect that to cause burning symptoms or a bitter taste throughout rather than just on the right side though.
Is it the gums or your cheek or tongue that are hurting on the right side?
Is there any swelling of the cheek or gums, or ulcers like canker sores?
Do you have any bridges or other mouth appliances on the right side?

It is my teeth and jawbone, I don't feel any swelling or sores in my mouth. It reminds me of the tightening feeling I had before my wisdom teeth were extracted ten years ago.
And I have no applications in my mouth.

Possibly there is some movement of your teeth that is going on then if it feels like when your wisdom teeth were crowding or impacted.
Probably best to go to the dentist for him/her to see if there have been any changes.
If a tooth is pushing on one half (e.g. lower) that can affect the upper too.
I am not sure why it would hurt more later in the day than in the morning unless you are perhaps biting in a way that exacerbates it during the day.
Also, pain in general gets worse in the late afternoon and evening as cortisol drops (natural diurnal pattern). But it doesn't explain why you are having the pain in the first place.
So - I think it is time to go in to see a dentist. Try to get a late afternoon appt. if possible, but if not, they might be able to sort it out with dental X-rays anyway.
