What Causes Persistent Post Nasal Drip, Partial Deafness And Hypertension?

Don't want to bother my GP with this, as he must be sick of the sight of me with my post nasal drip etc. Spent five days in hospital recently, had every test going, and am fine, apart from the drip, and mild gastritis. Any ideas to clear my wretched ear? Would a nasal decongestant spray be a good idea, bearing in mind I am also having the prescribed steroid spray, twice daily? Many thanks.

Intranasal decongestants are better than oral...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query. I have gone through the query thoroughly and understood your problem; I'll try my best to help you with this.
1. I would prefer to try giving nasal decongestants rather than oral.
2. Also, you need to use saline nasal spray and do steam inhalation regularly. Steam helps in opening the Eustachian tube (the tube connecting nose and the ear) by reducing the congestion around the tube.
3. Drink adequate warm water. Warm water de-congests the nasal mucosa and helps in opening the Eustachian tube.
4. Avoid chilled food and beverages/coffee/smoking.
5. Laryngopharyngeal reflux secondary to acid reflux disease can worsen the present problem, hence, you need to concentrate on treatment of gastritis as well.
Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.
