Bipolar depression could be a possibility
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM
I can understand your concern. You have mentioned that she is very outgoing and is not at fault. A lot of couples suffer such issues but in most cases no significant problems occur. In you case she developed depressive symptoms and the improvement will take time.
First of all try to sort out any unresolved issues. Talk to her and if she has anything to say then listen to her side. Reassure her that you have no trust issues now. Avoid any confrontations, some times males in anger say things which result in significant impact on mind of females. During violent episodes which are probably reactive mood symptoms of depression avoid any thing that result in significant confrontation. Don't say no to her during the episodes. With time she will become calm.
Most probably she is having Depressive disorder with atypical features. Other possible diagnosis is Bipolar depression but for diagnosis evaluation is needed.
You can find a lot of doctors from our site in doctors section in XXXXXXX
Yes she will become fine, no need to worry.
Does she has any symptoms like over spending, hitting others, talking big, talk claims etc during episodes?
Thanks and Take care.

She is having depression and not bipolar
Detailed Answer:
Hello again
Just don't react when ever she is in mood swings. If she needs any help at that time then you can help her but avoid doing anything actively during her spells. When she is relatively normal then you can talk with her, find out the things that are resulting in anger. With time things will definitely improve.
Yes Amitriptyline 25 is ok and If needed doses can be increased to 50 mg. This will help in improving her mood.
She has no symptoms of bipolar so no need to worry. Her depression will improve with time.
Thanks
