What Causes Persistent Urethral Pain?

Question: Reoccuring urethra pain with 3 negative bacterial urine cultures in the past three months. 7 day course of Doxycyline and Flagyl have been given with no relief. All STI test have been negative. Have been drinking lots of water to flush as advised to do. No bladder leakage or problem with urgency at this time just pain throughout the day.

A sterile urine can be seen in cases of tuberculosis of urinary tract.
Thus, I am of the opinion that you should get ZN staining for acid fast bacilli (AFB) to look for tubercular infection.
