Question: Hi,
I have been having pins and needles type of pain in both hands. At night, it wakes me up. Some mornings, I also have pain on the inside of my elbow. I am a 61 year old woman who owns a restaurant. So I am on my feet at least 10-12 hours each day and lifting heavy pots and crates.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of carpal tunnel syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Pins and needle sensation in hands may be due to carpal tunnel syndrome occurring especially at nights.

Another possibility may be cervical spondylosis if there is associated neck pain and radiation of pain from neck to hands.

Are you having any diabetes or Thyroid disorder?

Nerve conduction examination may be required to diagnose.

Treatment includes physiotherapy, avoiding lifting of heavy objects. Drugs like Pregabalin or Amitryptiline may be helpful.

Surgical procedure are also available.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
