What Causes Poor Concentration, Memory Loss And Poor Social Skills?
I have some serious problems of concentration, memory loss and social skills. I sometimes think that the psychological and mind related issues are just due to the symptoms I mentioned above. As I usually feel myself in non-working or inactive mode. So it depresses me a lot to make me irritating, sad, absent minded and totally unsocial person. My job has suffered, my studies suffered a lot and more importantly my relationships are affected a lot. I sometimes become very difficult person for others.
I had been diagnosed in past with Vitamin D deficiency. In past 8 years (since it's diagnosed) I have taken enough supplements to cure the symptoms. I had a bit of IBS symptoms which occasionally appear.
Recently I have had DEXA scan to get to know about a chance of establishing Osteoporosis or not. It's report and other details I can email.
I am getting out of normal life day by day as I don't know what's wrong with me and at the same time symptoms are there with no diagnosis at all.
Please help me!
depression
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.
First off you do not have osteoporosis. A male and a young male like yourself is very unlikely to have osteoporosis and the DEXA scan confirms that. I do not think you need to be on supplements you are just wasting your money.
the next thing is that you are suffering from severe depression. This depression is causing you to feel bad and not able to get motivated. I strongly urge that you start on a antidepressant and also start cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). The medication you should get from your medical provider. The CBT is something you can do at home with several good workbooks. I highly recommend using a book called "The Feel Good BooK" by Dr. Burns. It is a great book that will help you through your depression and find ways to help you feel better about yourself and your situation.
In summary
1. No osteoporosis
2., Stop your Vitamin D supplements
3. See your medical provider for an Antidepressant like fluoxetine or citalopram
4. Read and study "The Feel Good Book" by Dr. Burns
I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any further questions.
Moreover, can I consult with some psychologist on this forum? If I have to consult my physician locally, how I have to convince him that I should take anti-depressants?
all related to depression
Detailed Answer:
I think all your symptoms are related to depression even the weakness. Once your depression improves you will sleep better and feel overall better with more energy to do things.
You don't have to convince your medical provider you have depression you just need to tell him that you feel depressed. Ne open and honest about your feelings and your poor outlook on life.
We do have psychiatrists on this forum but I would recommend that you actually visit a therapist to help you gain control over your life. Being in person is so much better than trying to type your feelings. It takes away from the spontaneity and non-verbal clues you give off while talking
I hope this answered your question. Please contact me again if you have other questions
Also, all the day long, I feel a sharp sound of whistling in my both ear. It is so sharp that I try hard to ignore but if I concentrate on this, I simply can't resist and feel very anxiety.
Moreover, do you think that I should have some hormone related or other tests? Also should I see clinical psychiatrist?
See Psychiatrist
Detailed Answer:
I see here that you have marked anxiety that is also causing you to lose sleep. I would say before you have any further testing or consider any medical treatments that you see a psychiatrist. Your symptoms of itching and tinnitus ( ear ringing) is all related to your anxiety.
Please see a psychiatrist so you can get control of your life and move forward with a health mental attitude.
