What Causes Popping Sensation In The Knee?

Question: Hi. I was turning around and heard and felt a pop in the outside/posterior of my knee. Originally all I had was a dull ache and a little instability. Two weeks later the pain is only a dull ache when I'm setting. When I walk the pain builds until I'm limping quite a bit. Do you think I tore my cal?
Brief Answer:
If not better or if persistence of instability, may be a sign of a severe damage that needs an MRI for further evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.
A knee trauma will need at least 6-8 weeks to heal completely and for the inflammation to decrease. If not better, it may be severe damage like meniscus or ligament tear. In this case, you will need an MRI to confirm or rule that out. Continuity of instability may be a sign of a likely damage.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.
