What Causes Positive Pregnancy Result After Taking Abortion Tablets?
Question: Hi
i took mifepristone on 25th feb followed by 2 misoprostol tabs on 26th As i was advised.
it started my periods same nite on 26th feb.they r almost finished but
still Some spotting and discharge is thr.
did my pregnancy test today at home and it still shows positive.
Now i need to know what i shud do?
shud i take rest of the 2 misoprostol tabs to complete the abortion? (2 weeks pregnancy )
M really confused at the moment

The presence of a positive pregnancy test after an abortion does not suggest that the abortion is incomplete. Taking rest of the two tablets now will not help. It is best to get an ultrasound scan done to know if there is a complete expulsion of the products. In case the abortion is incomplete then medicines or D&C can be advised by your gynecologist.
The urine test takes two weeks to become negative after an abortion.
