Question: I am 59 year old female. I have not had a menstral period in 11 years and now occasionally I am spotting. What does that mean?

Post menstrual spotting or bleeding is not a good sign and needs further evaluation.I would like you to undergo an ultrasound to see for any mass in the uterus and to see thickness of the endometrial lining. Secondly, I would want some more information from you like any history of endometrial cancer in the family, use of estrogen as hormone replacement, no of children and your body weight .
