What Causes Pounding Headache Upon Standing Up Or Looking Up?
This could be linked to rapid change in position!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about these headaches. I have reviewed the information fully and of course there are no immediate red flags at this time. I would say the rapid transition from a sitting to an upright position is the most likely cause of these headaches. When we cause a rapid change in blood pressure which leads to a very light generalized headache. This would generally last a few seconds and gets resolved. For this, I will encourage you to get up slowly from a sitting position to an upright position. Also, drink enough fluids. If you are on any medications for blood pressure, please let me know as this might be a possible cause.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Thanks for using our services.
Have you gotten your numbers controlled?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the precision.
Please, can I get an idea of what your blood pressure numbers are? If these headaches are one sided and throbbing in nature, this may be suggestive of a migraine headache. How often do you get them? Migraine headaches are usually one sided and last for a short time. You may also have other symptoms such as blur vision.
For now, please present numbers and let me know how long these headaches last. Tylenol, rest and staying away from lights would help for the meantime.
Let me hear from you. I wish you well.
