What Causes Premature Ventricular Contractions?
Question: I have had PVCS on and off for the past three years. Have had Holter Monitor 3 times. One time showed PVCS and Echo twice normal both times. I won't get them for the longest time and then they start again. Should I be overly concerned?

Dear Madam ,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that PVCs can be innocent most of the times . Since your echocardiography is normal the possibility is there that it could be just innocent and probably not a reason for much concern .
But try to keep your alcohol intake limited and get your health check up regularly .
Take care.

I don't drink. It has been a year since I have had any problem, and now they have started again. Is it normal for them to come and go. I do have a physical every year at which time an ecg is done as part of it.

Dear Madam,
Thank you for reverting back .
Well thats a good thing if you dont drink as alcohol precipitates PVCs . Yes PVCs can occur again and come anytime so there can be perfectly long intervals between their recurrence .
