Question: Hi I am a 40 years old female Over the course of the past week or so I have been experiencing what I would describe as a tight/ heavy sensation in my pelvic area generalized I have had this sensation numerous times over the past three five years I have had multiple exams and ultrasounds where nothing was found I am also frequently constipated could this be ibs my gp seems to believe that it is anxiety driven can anxiety cause such a sensation
Brief Answer:
IBS is the reason
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
Such sensation of heaviness in lower abdomen is likely to be due irritable bowel syndrome ( IBS).
IBS coupled with constipation causes such feeling of heaviness and discomfort you are experiencing.
This has nothing to do with uterus, ovaries or any gynecological problems. This is not any hormonal variation related also.
I suggest you seek help of your doctor for effective treatment of IBS.
