Brief Answer:
hot flushes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
At 67 , of course you are menopausal. The extreme sweating and warmth which you must be experiencing now are called HOT FLUSHES and these are common in post menopausal women, unless you are diabetic or a cardiac patient , where sweating indicates hypoglycemia and angina respectively.
Please meet your physician and rule out diabetes and cardiac cause as early as possible. If ruled out then , they are hot flushes and you would have to be placed on hormone estrogen replacement therapy again in low dose.

Detailed Answer:
In that case , sweating can be due sudden increase in blood pressure as well , though thyroid , i believe you must be on thyroxine supplementation already, so that should not be a cause.
