What Causes Prolonged Pain At The Hernia Repair Site?

default
Posted on Fri, 8 May 2015
Question: It's been some time; my questions were about colorectal surgery; hernia surgery. Finally going to Mayo on Monday; turns out the surgeon who did hernia repair had problems; trauma surgeon seeing me. Do you have any advise for me - I am pretty much homebound as the pain is so great - but it's complicated because my doctor didn't address new symptoms. If you don't recall, I had colorectal surgery which failed; hernia repair and after that, everything went wrong, it seems. Pain at hernia/colon removal site; BM backs up (I take all the necessary fiber, etc) then I'll have normal and then incontinence. Did not have incontinence before surgery. I don't know if asking you new questions is ok or not. Hope your health is good.

Yes, we sent a ll the CD's, reports, etc. The Trauma Surgeon is aware of the surgeon I had and the problems from his past surgeries. However, while I am at Mayo, because I got treated only for chronic pain, I will have to have lumbar checked closely. I kid you not when I tell you that movement is so painful, I really don't know how I kept going;
I am very happy to hear you are better. You have had a long road and continued to serve which speaks volumes about your dedication to your patients and yourself. As soon as I know anything, I will write as you have listened, advised, been patient and given great counsel which is difficult since you haven't examined me personally. It has been an awful two plus years since the two surgeries. I am letting go of the doctor's mistakes but I will fight for the rights of others. Until I know more, take good care and thank you for your dedication. You have been most helpful in keeping me going and not letting go of hope.
