What Causes Puffy Eyes When Suffering From Cold?

Question: my 3 year old daughter gets puffy eyes whenever s
he gets cold. there is no redness or watery eyes just swelling. It reduces by itself once the sypmtoms of cold is reduced. I am attaching the picture of my daughter with puffy eye. this always happens in her left eye

It could be due to the allergic component involved in such infections that the facial swelling is occurring. I have seen the image and do not think there is anything to worry about. Give the child steam inhalation along with some antiallergics like levocetirizine and the child would be fine in few days. For confirmation, you might get the blood counts and protein levels checked.

Furthermore, let me mention that there could be a blockage of the nasolacrimal duct on the left side. The management is simple. Stoke gently starting from the angle of the eye downward towards the nose for a few times and for few times a day. Gradually things will be fine.
