Brief Answer:
Nerve compression syndrome is the possibility.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Your mother's problem can be due to nerve compression syndrome. A physical examination by orthopedician will be helpful to rule out this.
Does she have any numbness or tingling sensation in fingers?
Does she have discomfort on neck or neck pain?
Does she had any injury to arms or hands before?
Uric acid also can give irritation on elbow region and gives symptoms like this.
Uric acid level should be managed by Diet and drugs like allopurinol (zyluric).
In case of nerve compression syndromes physiotherapy and neurotropic drugs like Pregabalin & methylcobalamin will be helpful.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Thanks. Yes, she has numbness and neck pain as well. She didnt have any injury. What could be the reason if she has above symptoms? What do you reccommend to do?

Brief Answer:
It can be from cervical spondylosis disc problems.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.

Thank you for your follow up query.

In such case it can be most likely nerve compression or irritation from (neck) cervical spondylosis or intervertebral disc problems. A consultation with orthopedician followed by a X ray and MRI if necessary will help to rule out this.

If she was my patient in such case then I would advise muscle relaxants like cyclobenzaprine , NSAIDs like Aceclofenac and neurotropics like Pregabalin & methylcobalamin. Along with this I would recommend Physiotherapy like TENS and massage.
Sleep on hard mattress.
Avoid high pillows.
Using orthopaedic pillow for neck is good while sleeping and sitting.
Using soft cervical collars is also good.
Uric acid level should be maintained by Diet and dugs like Allopurinol as a high uric acid can worsen his also.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
