What Causes Pulsating Sensation In Right Side Within The Rib Cage?
I have been having, intermittently, over the past few days, a pulsating sensation in my right side within the ribcage, about 3 finger widths below my right breast. There are not many other symptoms that go along with it. I am in the midst of a shingles episode and do have adrenal fatigue, rheumatoid arthritis and multinodular goiters on my thyroid (no medication in use presently). This a something new that I have never experienced before, and thought it may be gallbladder or liver related. Can I get your input on this?
Need to be investigated further.
Detailed Answer:
Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Even though this could be a post shingles infection sequel, if I were your doctor, after a physical examination I would advise you for an ultrasound abdomen and chest which would bring clarity to rule out any kind of vascular pathology like an aneurysm, hepoto-biliary pathology or any other intra abdominal pathology. If indicated post ultrasound, I would advise you for a CT scan/MRI of the area.I would also advise for you a thyroid function test to know the thyroid status.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
