What Causes Rapid Heart Rate After A Meal?
I think there might be more to it then that though, even on a good day right after a meal I get rapid great beat and a nauseous feeling, it happens every time after a meal.
I take a once a day acid reflex pill for more then frequent heartburn. I'm not on medication for anxiety but I was told benadryl could help so I take two tea spoons when I feel an attack coming on. I would like to know why my heart rate speeds up after a meal almost to 125 bpm and I feel like my heart beats harder then it should be normally.
Better to take benzodiazepin on sos basis

Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.
There is no relationship between taking meal and heart rate. Usually after taking meal, blood circulation to intestine increases to absorb food, but it never effects on heart function. In your case, may be due to underline anxiety, you feels increase heart beat after taking meal. I think, you have unconscious fear about anxiety symptoms after meal. You have, this thought in your mind that after meal your heart beat increases and due to this, it usually happens.
In that case, either you can take some antidepressant with low dose benzodiazepine or relaxation exercise that would keep you calm. You can also take benzodiazepine on sos basis. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper help.
In case, you need my help, you can ask.
