What Causes Rectal Bleeding When Diagnosed With Hemorrhoids?

Question: I have had hemmoroids for several months. I was given suppositories by my doctor that I used for 3 weeks and the problem went away. Now they are back and I am using Preparation H every day, sometimes several times a day. I am better but worried that I should not be using the Preparation H so often and so regularly. I still have a small amount of rectal bleeding. Should I go back to the doctor?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
1. First of all, please let me know what grade are your hemorrhoids? Did your doctor tell you about it?
If you have grade 1-2 then you can continue using preparation H plus liquid and healthy diet.
2. If your hemorrhoids are grade 3-4 then you may need to consult your doctor again and discuss with him about surgery.
Meantime you can use long term Preparation H, it is safe.
Otherwise healthy diet and physical activity are important too in such situations.
Hope it was helpful to you. feel free to ask further.
