Brief Answer:
Bleeding per anus
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
You seem to be having internal hemorrhoids which usually present with painless, red rectal bleeding during or following a bowel movement.
Sitz baths daily with ( saline water or water mixed with baking soda)will help.
Thickening of skin in the perianal area indicates chronic infection likely organized.
Apart from antibiotic ointment an oral course of broad spectrum antibiotic is advised.
However it will be better to consult a surgeon to assess your case.

The rectal discharge is virtually clear. Very little if any blood. The flow is slow yet continuous. Help me understand.

Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
A proctoscopy is needed to detect the source of bloody discharge which is intermittent as you described. It is also difficult to asses the nature of thickened /indurated perianal skin without undertaking physical examination.
