What Causes Recurrent Swollen Veins And Pain Post Microsurgical Varicocelectomy?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understood your concerns very well.
Although varicocele can reoccur after the surgery but it is too early a period when varicocele can reoccur.
Slight swelling and pain is very common after such surgery and would go way gradually.
As far as masturbation or sex is concerned, there is no fixed cut off point from where you can do it and before you can not do it.
Different doctors have different opinion on it but a one week time frame is the most often quoted one and moreover it depends upon the comfort of the person himself also.
If you find pain or discomfort doing sex or masturbation even after 1 week, you may defer it for one more week.
Since the surgery has nothing to do with the pathway for the passage of sperms, sex or masturbation has no relation with the surgery.
Don't think that masturbation has affected you in some way.
Relax and enjoy your life.Nothing bad has happened to you.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

Before the surgery my semen analysis results were like this:
count :8 mil/,ml
vol :2ml
mobility :40% motile
morphology:50% in normal shape.
Are they normal,am I fertile.
My penis size lies around 12 cm my age is 21, am I having normal size for my age?
Success of operation would be determined by the improved semen analysis and absence of pain or swelling in scrotum.
It takes about three months for sperm cells to be created and matured. A follow-up semen analysis is thus usually obtained three to four months after the surgery. The physician will evaluate the number and health of the sperm and compare this with a sample taken before the procedure. Improvement is often seen within six months, but may not be observed until one year after the surgery. Semen quality is improved in about 60 percent of infertile men undergoing correction of a varicocele.
As far as return of varicocele is concerned,it is very difficult to take any step for prevention, because varicocele occurs due to defect of valves in the veins and we don't know the reason why the defect in valves occur.
Your reports are slightly abnormal.
Normal sperm count is above 20 millions per ml.
Your value at 8 millions per ml is definitely less.
Normal motility is above 60%,while your values are 40%.
However your morphological values are normal.
These reports do indicate some fertility problem
Normal erect penis size varies from 12 to 15 cm.
Your penis size is normal.
Thanks

So how frequent is recurrence of varicocele even after microsurgery.
And how frequent is right sided varicocele.
Are there any natural processes to improve sperm count like any diet/health habits?
Chances of recurrence after surgery are 5-10%.
95% cases of varicocele occur on left side.
Natural ways to increase sperm count are ....
Regular exercises for 45 minutes a day
Shedding your weight
Eating healthy by taking more of green vegetables, fresh fruits, nuts etc.
Avoiding junk foods.
Avoiding tobacco,smoking ,drugs etc
Taking alcohol in moderation
Specific ways are....
For men, the most important supplemental nutrients to enhance fertility are vitamin C and zinc. Vitamin C (2,000 to 6,000 milligrams daily) helps prevent sperm from clumping or sticking together, thus improving the chances for fertility.
Zinc supplementation (100 to 200 mg daily) has been shown to increase testosterone levels, sperm count and sperm motility. High zinc sources include oysters, organ meats, lean beef, turkey, lamb, herring, wheat germ, legumes and nuts.
Arginine is an amino acid the body produces from the digestion of protein. It is found in high amounts in the head of the sperm. Food sources of arginine include nuts, chocolate, meat, poultry, fish and dairy.
