Hi,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that your son may be suffering from the tonsillitis.
In this condition I personally suggest to your son
1. Avoid cold water, ice cream, cold drinks and pickle if he have.
2. Go for throat swab culture and antibiotic sensitivity and treatment according to test result.
For better diagnosis and management either send me the image of oral cavity of your son or consult with your ENT specialist.
Thanks

He has had sore throats from a few months old...in november last year he got a really bad throat and ear infection was knocked his balance off.
Then again in march he had another bad episode that lasted around 4-5 weeks and again now. And again given antibiotics.
When he gets the infection his temp constantly rises above 39 throughout the day and night.
Its now getting to the point were im really worried about something happening to him through the night and i feel like the doctors aren't really taking the situation seriously.
I was just looking for another opinion or a bit of reassurance or any help at all on what i should do with him as the last doctor we seen today said its just part of life.
Brief Answer:
It`s just a part of life

Hi,
I have gone through your follow up query; and I suggest you that in this condition there is no need to worry and I agree with your doctor that it’s just a part of life.
For your information the size of tonsils reaches its maximum at 3 years of age and then regresses gradually and it would improve in time with careful monitoring.
Conservative management is the treatment of choice in this age group.
Trust in your treating doctor, your baby is getting right treatment.
Thanks
