Question: We are in Mexico and I believe that my husband has suffered a TIA, upon thinking about this when we were in Hawaii I was concerned and now I think that these incidents are related. Should we be going back to Canada? Piecing this all together I think he has had several of these episodes

Brief Answer:
Yes you should

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I am really concerned for your husband now.
Recurrent TIA's are serious and can cause ischemia to part of brain.
Evaluation will require a MRI brain, carotid Doppler & EEG if required. These tests & further follow up is better in your place with your doctor only. So its better to go back for proper treatment.
For the initial evaluation & to rule out any emergency currently, you can go to a ER in Mexico also. Because some conditions needs timely evaluation. Than you can go back to Canada.
I pray for his good health & wish he gets back better soon.
Be in touch if you need assistance of any kind.
Thanks
Take care

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If he does not want to go to Canada now, you can get him evaluated from hospital in Mexico also. Their must be good doctors & hospital there too.
If it is not serious, he can be kept on medications only.
It is not always that TIA's occur again & again. Their can be single episode with no further episode thereafter. It mainly depends on the cause of TIA which is generally a clot in any part of body which moves with blood to brain & causes TIA.
For treatment & prevention of further episode, ij addition to baby Aspirin, you can add Tab Atorvastatin 40mg once a day at night after dinner plus a acidity drug like Tab Pantoprazole 40mg once a day before breakfast.
Thanks
Take care
