What Causes Recurring Fever And Cold In An Infant?
Treatment with intravenous antibiotics suggested
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Some children have a propensity to catch cold. This propensity comes down with increase in age.
Usually these are caused due to viral infections.
I have gone carefully through the attached reports. C-Reactive protein (CRP) indicates presence of some infection or inflammatory reaction to be present in the body. Although the blood counts are not suggestive of any bacterial infection, I would still insist on getting it treated with antibiotics.
Usually we suggest admission so that intravenous antibiotics may be administered. But before that I would suggest you to get a quantitative measurement of CRP done so that the effect of treatment with antibiotics can be monitored. Alongside, examination of the chest and throat are also essential.
Hope that helps.
