Hot Pool Folliculitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic
I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query and I have understood it.
It is indeed bacterial infection of the hair follicles Or Folliculitis /Furunculosis.
You most likely got the infection from hot tub (there is an entity called hot tub folliculitis). Hot tub folliculitis is an eruption of scattered small red itchy or tender bumps, some of which are pustular. They mainly occur in areas that were covered by the swimming costume. Hot tub folliculitis is due to an opportunistic bacterial infection of the skin by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Pseudomonas can survive in warm water, even when adequately chlorinated.
I would suggest Oral Ciprofloxacin 500 mg twice daily for a week. You should continue with the antibiotics for a week. 22 hours is anyways too less a time for an oral antibiotic to produce noticeable improvement.
Topically you can use either 2% mupirocin ointment Or Neosporin ointment, twice daily instead of benzoyl peroxide.

I think you should just continue with oral ciprofloxacin for a week, which you can get prescribed from your local practitioner. It should resolve within a week
