Hi I'm a 15 year old 5'7" 117lb female and I have a hard, painful lump on the inside of my left buttcheek. Its not red and it doesn't have a head or appear to be fluid filled. Its about a inch away from my anus though not quite in line with it. Its round and quite painful, Ive had it for a while. What is this and how do I treat it?
Hello, Painful hard lump around the anus may be due to. 1 Fistula in anus , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a surgeon. As this is around the anus and very painful so most probably may be fissure ( fistula in anus). 2 hemorrhoids may be , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination. However as you mentioned that it is away from anus , so chance of hemorrhoids are very less but physical examination will find out the exact nature. 3 Furunculosis or pyoderma , in your case it may be furunculsis . Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a dermatologist. In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion. Good luck. Dr. HET
