Brief Answer:
normal newborn rash will settle down. Send pictures

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
There are many types of normal newborn rash which fit into the description given by you.
1. Neonatal acne - these are due to mothers hormone causing changes in the baby skin. This will fade away in a few days without any treatment.
2. Erythema toxicum - this is red raised rash with a yellow or white dot in the centre. Again no treatment is required. Will disappear spontaneously.
3. Prickly heat - due to hot weather. Keep the area dry and avoid powders. Use air-conditioning if required.
Do send us a picture of your baby's skin rash if possible.
If rash doesn't settle on its own or increases or if the baby becomes dull and not feeding well, you need to consult your pediatrician.
I do hope that the rash will settle down.
Do not apply any powder on the face.
Wishing your baby good health and speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun

Detailed Answer:
Looks like neonatal acne.
Should settle soon. No treatment required for now.
If not settling in a few days may need antiseptic ointments like FUSIDIC acid.
