But both presents with different types of rashes as well as at different regions like around external genitalia, lips and zoaster typically involves unilateral dermatome. So your lesions are quite different from those of herpes. Since your lesions are spreading to thighs as well the lesions reduced after using steriod the most probable cause may be due to fungal infection.
