What Causes Red, Raised Bumpy Lesion On The White Part Of The Eye?

default
Posted on Sat, 16 May 2015
Question: Good morning. Hope your day is going well. I am 51, female, active, good health. My right eye has been red for the last week and have noticed an oval shaped area with what looks like raised bumps in the white closest to my nose. My eye also itches and has been dry. I have been having allergy issues do to pollen. I know this is probably a hard one, but it is very hard to get to a doctor here and get an appointment that is not 2 months out unless it's an emergency. Suggestions? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
The symptoms indicate inflammatory lesion of the conjunctiva or episclera.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having red, raised bumpy lesion on the white part of the eye.

This can be inflammatory lesion of the conjunctiva or episclera like nodular conjunctivitis or nodular episcleritis.

I need more details to answer your question more accurately like
Do you have pain?
Do you have watering or discharge?
Do you have diminution of vision?

If possible do send a photo of the affected eye so that I can advice you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you

Thank you for your response. There is no pain or diminished vision. It is actually drier than the other eye. Not sure how to send picture at this time as there is not place in this response to attach.

Brief Answer:
It appears like conjunctival inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

Since there is no pain and diminution of vision this can be conjunctival inflammation.
As of now you can start using antibiotic eye drops like Moxifloxacin eye drops and artificial tears eye drops like Refresh tears eye drops.

You can attach a photo to the question, if any difficulty please contact technical team.

Hope this is helpful to you.
