What Causes Redness, Irritation And Soreness In The Roof Of The Mouth?
Question: The roof of my mouth became a little sore today and i the ridge is irritated it is slightly tender when touched. I dont remember eating anything spicy or too hot. I also noticed two small/brown pock like marks on both sides of the irritation. I did have my dentist evalute my mouth with an ultra violet light to search for oral cancer and she also noticed the spots, pressed on them and said they looked more like trauma and it was something "we'll keep an eye on" but said it was nothing to worry about. That was several weeks ago. Im 36 years old and just reccently quit smoking.

There is no bleeding. I noticed the redness yesterday. The tissue feels normal but it is on a hard ridge of the roof of my mouth that gods doen the center. It does seem to be a little less irritated and red today .

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the information and the follow up query.
My advice is you should take tablet vitamin c once daily and use hexidine mouth wash regularly for a week. The lesion appears to be just a mucosal infection and will disappear. Avoid touching it or any trauma like brushing etc.
All the medicines I have prescribed will be available at prescription only.
Take care
Any further questions are always welcome.
Thanks and regards

What could the two brown spots be? Theyre almost like indentations or pin holes. Could it just be part of my anatomy? Anything to be concerned about?
