What Causes Right Sided Chest Pain?

Question: i had a slight pain in upper right side of chest and got all clammy and sweaty. got anxious and scared. lasted about five or ten minutes then subsided
Brief Answer:
cardiological assessment is required
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
right sided pain is not common for heart-related pain but any chest pain that lasts for at least 5 minutes and causes symptoms like sweating, nausea, etc have to be evaluated as a suspicious heart attack. An ECG and heart enzymes (troponin) have to be ordered to exclude this diagnosis. Negative troponin 6 hours after the event will exclude infarction.
Other potential causes may include musculoskeletal disorders, gastrointestinal disorders (like gastro-esophageal reflux disease), anxiety, etc. Sometimes no cause can be identified. Clinical assessment and lab tests will help to exclude the serious causes.
I hope you find my comments helpful!
Kind regards!
