Brief Answer: Tretinoin is not known to cause seizures. Detailed Answer: Hi, I have noted your query. I would like to reassure you that tretinoin is not known to cause or aggravate seizures. So, seizures in your case starting after tretinoin treatment is probably coincidental. Normal MRI of brain is a good news. These seizures where no obvious cause is found are common, and are referred to as cryptogenic seizures. You would benefit from taking anti-epileptic medications to prevent seizures in the future. I hope my reply has helped you. I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information. DR XXXXXXX thank you for your reply, am concerned with your reply, in that my research shows seizures as a possible SIDE EFFORT use of tretinion, why then can you be sure tretinion is not the cause of my seizures????

Brief Answer: My reply is below. Detailed Answer: Thank you for getting back. I agree with you that seizures can occur with an overdosage of tretinoin on a particular day, however, this medicine does not cause seizures spread over a number of days or months. That is the reason I told it is unlikely. I hope it clarifies. Best wishes, Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
