What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain And Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Essure Coil Insertion?
Question: Can you see if Essure coils are correctly placed in the fallopian tubes by looking at CAT scan imaging? I recently had a CAT scan done for kidney stones. In my layman's view, my coils don't appear to be in my fallopian tubes. I have been complaining of very heavy abnormal bleeding in between periods and abdominal pain. I had the HSG done 3 months after the Essure was inserted that indicated my tubes were blocked but the heavy bleeding and pain has been persistent. I had an endometrial biopsy done that was negative for any abnormalities. I had an MRI done that was negative for adenomyosis.

Coils are rightly placed in fallopian tubes in both sides.

I have gone through all images in detail.Coils are rightly placed in fallopian tubes in both sides and it is not displaced at all.
As no pathology is detected for abnormal bleeding,it is important to rule out DUB(dysfunctional uterine bleeding). You may need hormonal preparation like progestins etc.
You may need proper evaluation by a gynecologist.

Can you tell if the coils have perforated the fallopian tubes or the uterus at all? I had my hormone levels checked as well and my levels are fine. I've never had dysfunctional bleeding ever in my life until after I was implanted with Essure. I have gone for very long stretches in the course of my life without taking any hormonal birth control and I've never had pain and bleeding like this.
