Severe bloating and getting worse over the years. I've tried EVERYTHING. Changes in diet, etc. I've even had nutritionists give me special diets. Nothing works. One doctor told me he thinks I have IBS. But how do I stop this? It's painful and embarassing. I seriously, no exaggeration, look pregnant when I get bloated.
Brief Answer:
IBS to confirm after excluding organic problems...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXXXXX
It seems that your symptoms are related to IBS. This diagnosis is confirmed after ruling out organic problems of GI tract. So, it is necessary to run further tests to rule out pathologies of GI tract:
- colonoscopy
- abdominal ultrasound
- upper endoscopy
- measuring the levels of pancreatic enzymes
- fecal analysis and culture
- food intolerance testing
If everything is ok, then, IBS is confirmed. At this point, I'd recommend the following apart diet changes:
- take simethicone for bloating
- take probiotics to normalize intestinal flora
- antacids after meal
- PPIs to stabilize stomach pH
- be more physically active
Hope it was of help!
